Stop Taking Life So Seriously
Stop it. Stop it right now.
Stop replaying that same situation over and over in your head. Just stop it. It’s driving you mad.
Stop wondering what if you did the complete opposite, said the complete opposite or wrote the complete opposite. You’ve done it. It’s out there, forever. And there’s nothing you can do about it.
We’ve all been there once, twice or maybe a several hundred times where we’ve beaten ourselves up over and over again for something stupid we did. What we do is inevitable and not unless we’re God, we can’t reverse time and give ourselves a complete do over. At some point you just have to accept the fact that you fucked up, and you’ve got to learn from that mistake.
Some of us just can’t seem to let go of the little things that it ends up giving us anxiety attacks or adds to the stress. We end up doubting our actions that overthinking takes over and you’re left with worry and negativity. That’s not what life should be about.
I assume those of you who are reading this that you’re either a student, unemployed or working. As a student, you should be able to enjoy your time at school. You should be allowed to fail because school is the very foundation before you enter into the “real” world - because trust me, school will be the least of your worries. You should be able to rebel with your friends and drive your parents insane. You should be able to make all the adolescent memories for you to reminisce.
Unemployed? Explore your talents. Develop your skills. Meet up with friends who you haven’t seen in ages. Meet new people. Go out and have a beer at three in the afternoon - who gives a crap? You’re allowed to be you and do you. It’s your life right?
Your job won’t feel like a job not unless you absolutely love what you’re doing. You should be able to wake up at 8am without feeling like shit in the morning. You should be able to get through a whole day’s work without having to check if it’s 6pm. You should be able to work with passion and purpose.
Last time I checked, there was no instruction manual on how to live. No one really knows what they’re doing - let’s just live day by day without feeling too tense. We all just have to stop taking life so seriously, and just live. We’re all bound to get off track and lose focus, but that’s okay.
We’re meant to find ourselves and explore our capabilities. We’re meant to learn from our mistakes and evidently do better afterwards. We’re meant to sit back and let the universe decide if it’s meant to be or not. Life goes on one step at a time and you shouldn’t expect for anything to go well overnight. Life is a process.
